Vinyasa Yoga - Level 1/2

Amanda Zehr

Amanda was involved in all kinds of sports and running growing up. After moving to Chicago at 22, she enrolled in the 500 hour program at the National Personal Training Institute and received her certification through NASM. While weight training and running were of interest, Amanda felt there was still something she was missing in her regime. After moving to Indianapolis, she started doing yoga as a supplement to running. But after only a few weeks, running became her supplement to yoga. It was clear that yoga was what was missing. Amanda graduated from the 200 hour YTT program through Invoke Studio in the summer of 2015. She creates slower, but athletic-style flows accessible to all levels.

Ahna Hoke

Ahna began practicing yoga in 1995 in her central Pennsylvania hometown. She has been teaching since 2001 and is a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance at the 500 hour level. Ahna has studied extensively at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Massachusetts, as well as in the style of Anusara Yoga. Over the years she has studied with many world renowned teachers receiving 1200 hours of training in different modalities of Hatha Yoga. The life affirming philosophy of Anusara Yoga along with its elegant principles of alignment have influenced her personal practice to become more graceful and heart centered. In addition, she has over 135 hour of advanced pranayama (yogic breathing) and meditation training and feels strongly that the breath is the link that brings the mind, body, and spirit together. With the practice of pranayama, proper alignment, and opening to the flow of life, she will lead you through a practice that is uplifting and strengthening, inviting the wisdom of your heart to direct you into a state of self awareness. Ahna's teachings are down to earth and include plenty of playfulness and humor. She has a deep passion for anatomy & physiology, meditation and pranayama and is the director and primary teacher of Invoke Yoga Studio's accredited 200 hour yoga teacher training program. She enjoys instructing beginners as well as advanced practitioners.

Stephanie Martinez

Stephanie attended her first yoga class in 2009. She always used exercise as a way of dealing with the stresses of college and work life, and she quickly fell in love with yoga. Yoga allowed her to deal with anxiety, while gaining breath awareness and strengthening her body. Stephanie completed her 200 hour teacher training in August 2014 at Invoke Studio under Ahna Hoke and Chuck Crosby. Stephanie teaches vinyasa classes that focus on connecting the breath with each movement. Stephanie believes that yoga should be approached with lightheartedness and offers classes that will calm the mind and open the heart.

Jole Kelley

Jole stumbled upon yoga after showing up too late to take her weekly Pilates class. She was immediately hooked and has never looked back. Jole completed the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training program at Invoke Studio where she now teaches. She works to dispel the rumors that yoga is light on fitness and heavy on meditation and chanting – the very things that kept her from taking a yoga class for so many years! She emphasizes the enjoyment aspect of the practice as well as strength building. She hopes all will see that yoga makes you stronger physically and calms an anxiety-ridden mind. Also, being able to touch your toes is not a prerequisite to any yoga class. It’s about opening your heart and body.
Vinyasa Yoga - Level 1/2 - This is a basic or slower paced class that is perfect for beginners or those that prefer a slow flow. This class is for all levels regardless of how long you've been practicing as you can never know the basics too well. Whether you are a seasoned and dedicated yogi, a beginner who is brand new or an advanced beginner who has been coming to basics classes but does not feel quite confident enough to move up to an All Levels format, this class offers multiple benefits for all. Although this class will move with a flow it will be a slower flow so the student has ample time to move into and out of the pose effectively keeping the stability that is often lost when the flow becomes too fast. You will enjoy a great selection of poses with fun and interesting sequences, multiple alignment cues but also extended periods of silence once in the pose to allow reconnection with your breath, body and spirit. Come to breathe, move, open and smile.
