Vinyasa Yoga - Level 2

This class is taught by:

Ahna Hoke

Ahna began practicing yoga in 1995 in her central Pennsylvania hometown. She has been teaching since 2001 and is a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance at the 500 hour level. Ahna has studied extensively at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Massachusetts, as well as in the style of Anusara Yoga. Over the years she has studied with many world renowned teachers receiving 1200 hours of training in different modalities of Hatha Yoga. The life affirming philosophy of Anusara Yoga along with its elegant principles of alignment have influenced her personal practice to become more graceful and heart centered. In addition, she has over 135 hour of advanced pranayama (yogic breathing) and meditation training and feels strongly that the breath is the link that brings the mind, body, and spirit together. With the practice of pranayama, proper alignment, and opening to the flow of life, she will lead you through a practice that is uplifting and strengthening, inviting the wisdom of your heart to direct you into a state of self awareness. Ahna's teachings are down to earth and include plenty of playfulness and humor. She has a deep passion for anatomy & physiology, meditation and pranayama and is the director and primary teacher of Invoke Yoga Studio's accredited 200 hour yoga teacher training program. She enjoys instructing beginners as well as advanced practitioners.

Erin Morgan

Erin’s love of dance was what first drew her to the lines of energy and fluid movement of yoga. Like so many, the physical practice is where she began her journey. In college she retreated to her mat as a way to manage stress and get the creative juices flowing. Erin became more immersed in yoga during the time she spent living in California. During this time she began to feel the pull to share the healing power of yoga with others. She completed her 200hr training under the guidance of Carmen Fitzgibbon. Erin truly believes that yoga has the power to change lives. Her vinyasa teaching is a lighthearted blend of strength, breath, affirmation and flow. She hopes that students leave practice more aware of their own awesomeness, with the freedom to think, act, move and love with more authenticity.

Danielle Vetter

Danielle started practicing yoga to compliment distance running in 2009. She loved the peace, stillness, and whole-body relaxation yoga brought. Danielle completed her 200 Hour Yoga Training in Indianapolis in January of 2015. Her classes are upbeat, athletic, and connect breath work with a strong physical practice. She hopes her classes will offer students a chance to find strength, a deeper understanding of their bodies, and balance and peace in their lives.

Off the mat, you can find Danielle hiking, boxing, or rocking out to a concert at White River State Park. Danielle holds a BS and MPA from Indiana University (Go Hoosiers).

Cheryl Milton

Cheryl began her Yoga practice in 2001, after the birth of her first child Addison. At the time yoga was introduced to Cheryl she had just left a high-paced sales job to become a full time mom and was entering her seventh year teaching group fitness. Cheryl received her yoga training in Coastal Virginia. She trained with a focus in the tradition of the Hot Yoga Series and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Cheryl was the Director and Lead Teacher for the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program for Zen Hot Yoga Studio Virginia Beach, as well as the Founder and Lead Teacher for Passion Yoga School’s 2014 Yoga Teacher Training Program. She now leads Invoke's Yoga Alliance Certified 100 & 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Program at Invoke Wellness Center. Cheryl draws inspiration to teach and practice from her busy daily life: approaching her mat being open to explore, accept, reaffirm her passion for life and cultivate peace.

Laura Henderson

From Community Yoga to the Detox Bootcamp workshops, Laura’s classes are challenging, mindful, dynamic and organically soulful experiences of vinyasa for all levels. Believing the best teachers always remain curious students, Laura continues to explore and evolve her yoga life by attending workshops and trainings. Her continued journey as a student of yoga and Pilates keeps her classes fresh, and enables her to create sequencing that offers students new perspectives from which to understand a pose, their practice, and themselves. Laura received her Pilates mat training with the Physical Mind Institute in 2003, her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Registered training in 2006, attended Pilates reformer training with Balanced Body Institute in 2006, and completed prenatal yoga training in 2007. You can find her “beyond the mat” approach to yoga in all of her regularly scheduled Invoke classes, and in her soul-challenging Detox Bootcamp workshops.

Kevin Lemons

Kevin first discovered yoga in a university course, when his curiosity led him to an immediate experience with asana that forever changed his approach to physical fitness and spirituality. Since then, Kevin has had nearly two decades of hatha yoga practice, mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area. He studied under Bija Pretzel France, who taught him the importance of dedicated training and channeling energy in order to safely push boundaries of the body and mind. Kevin has since graduated from Invoke’s teacher training under the guidance of Ahna Hoke, who has helped him to refine his focus on alignment and further explore yogic philosophy. He is drawn to the dynamic, varying flow of vinyasa classes, and teaches with an emphasis on body placement and linking breath to movement while exploring new poses. He believes that yoga should be at times challenging, restorative, invigorating and calming, but always empowering and life-enhancing.
Vinyasa Yoga - Level 2 - All levels are welcome. The instructor will present different options for the less experienced student and for the advanced yogi. Vinyasa, a style of yoga, is a flowing sequence of asanas that ties movement with breath. Invoke’s dynamic vinyasa focuses on the flow, strength and power of the practice.
