We are excited about an extra treat this year in New Harmony. The annual Kuntzfest is the same weekend as our retreat. This is a German arts festival. So in addition to all the great things happening at the Barn Abbey, there will be plenty of arts and food for you to enjoy during your down time. 
 
New Harmony is a 200-year old community located on the banks of the Wabash River. It began as a spiritual sanctuary and evolved into a haven for international educators, scholars, and scientists who sought equality in communal living. This serene environment is a true Indiana treasure not to be missed. The trip is perfect for those who want a peaceful getaway complete with opportunities to learn about history, art, philosophy, spirituality, and architecture.

What's stopping you???

Our bones are all different. While many of us may be limited in our practice due to tension/tightness in our tissue (tension), an equal amount of us are limited in our practice due to our bone structure (compression). As both students and teachers of yoga, it is imperative that we understand the difference between these two ideas. No two of us look alike in physical appearance, so why should our yoga practice?

These workshops are open to both teachers and curious students who want to understand how they can best honor their own bodies and that of their students through the practice of yoga. We will unravel the theory behind Human Variation, perform various tests on our own bodies to see the great amount of uniqueness that exists in our local crowd and dive into how to develop a practice and teaching style that is inclusive of ALL bodies!

If you're ready to take your practice to the next level this class is for you. During this special class we'll apply precise alignment principles to open and strengthen the body so that you can dive deeper into your practice. Each class will be different with the opportunity to explore advanced poses in all categories: inversions, balancing poses, back bends and more!! These classes will utilize and enhance your strength, flexibility, and mental focus.
