Allow me to introduce Invoke instructor EXTRAORDINAIRE, Cheryl Milton.
Tell us about yourself.
The two best decisions I ever made in life were getting married and leaving corporate america. I've spent the last 21 years with my main squeeze, Terry Milton. He'll tell you that yoga is part of his "10-step plan" to mellow me out. We have two crazy awesome teenagers, Addison, 16 and Max, 14 and do our best to keep life in Carmel light and easy. Yoga, has been a CONSTANT for the last 16 years.
What do you like about Invoke?
Invoke is my community. I love the personal and professional support given by owner, Amy Peddycord, fellow staff members, but especially by our clients. Its the smiling faces, shared experiences and sweaty hugs from my Invoke family that make my job PERFECT!
I am not a foodie. Please don't make me cook. I have my own private chef and meal planner (wink...my hubby) but I do the grocery shopping. So my favorite food is whatever he's making.
What's on your playlist right now?
Music isn't really "my thing", but with teenagers in the house and a musically inclined husband, I'm happy with anything non-explicit. #1 on my radio preset is NPR.
When I'm not at Invoke you can find me____?
Picking veggies from my garden, supervising countless teenagers in my pool and house, and wondering what Terry has locked up in his smoker.
Sitting down. I've learned to meditate, but that's sitting for a purpose. Just sitting to relax.
Editor's note: I met Cheryl almost 12 years ago when our then 4 year old daughters were in ballet together. She spent the class trying to get our then 2 year old sons to do yoga in the lobby for entertainment. I casually asked, "do you teach yoga?"....and the rest is history. Meet Cheryl at Invoke several times each week (class schedule here) or if you'd like to deepen your practice, perhaps a yoga teacher training (info here) might be in your future.
