This class is designed for the student who is interested in learning meditation and pranayama (yogic breathing ), with each class containing new and different techniques. We will begin with a few short warm ups to open and stretch the body, then move into pranayama. In each session, you'll learn different types of breathing techniques designed to relax and revitalize your body. Pranayama is the core link of all yogic practice (joining the mind, body, and spirit) and there are many different types. Because of this you'll learn different techniques designed to relax and revitalize your body. Some of these breathing techniques you will be able to take into your yoga classes.
The second half of this class will be dedicated to meditation. In each class I will lead you through a new technique such as; guided imagery, metta, sound, candle gazing, walking, and breath work to name a few. Meditation is a very meaningful way to help us learn how to relax and focus our minds in today's hectic world. You will be able to take any and all of these pranayama and mediation techniques home with you. If you are wanting to start a home meditation practice and aren't sure how to get started, this is a great class for you. This class is perfect for beginners and established practitioners alike.
